HALF DOME!!!!!!!!!
I DID IT! I climbed to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park! Here I am just about to eget in line for the scary chain climb. 400 feet of steepness! Click on this pic for the (huge) photoalbum of pics from the day. 18 miles = 14 hours with a group of 11 people. Luckily I did a lot of training before hand, so I wasn't it too bad of shape at the end. But, boy oh boy - those chains were cool. Especially coming down - wicked fun! All walks of life up there too! It was awesome. Totally awesome!

Rampart Freakin Lakes
this is The BEST hike ever. my favorite for sure. lakes EVERYWHERE. i cannot wait to go back here overnight, so i can have more time to explore this wonderland. only thing is: 9.6 miles, 2500 foot elevation gain - most of which is in the last mile and a half. steep, boulders, roots - yeah, it is a tough one, but well worth it. Rick, Saphina and I took about 2 hours to get to Rachel Lake, with lots of stops to take pics of the many many awesome wildflowers. Nice break at Rachel Lake, then 40 mins to Rampart Lakes. 2 hours 10 mins down. Awesome day. seriously awesome.

Mt Forgotten Meadows
Went up to Mt Forgotten Meadows off the Mountain Loop Highway yesterday. 8 people, 8 miles round trip... slow going to the meadows, 2 hours 45 minutes to get there. The black flies were relentless! Some continued on to the top of Mt Forgotten, but I couldn't as I was meeting some friends for a camping trip after. 2 hours back down to the bottom (2 of us went down together). Click on Mr Moth for a few more pics... nice views or Mt Baker and Glacier Mountian! Camping was fun too!! The Stillaguamish River is freakin COLD though, so only Joe braved the rapids in the tube. Yikes!

Lake Serene Day Hike
Lake Serene is awesome. Went with Patti and Rick from my hiking group. 7.2 miles round trip (+ one mile to and from Bridal Veil Falls) with 2200 foot elevation gain. 2 hours 10 mins up, 2 hours down with 20 minute side trip to the falls. No camping allowed here. Truely serene. Beautiful spot! Had lunch on "lunch rock" and fed the chipmunk peanuts.
