this is The BEST hike ever. my favorite for sure. lakes EVERYWHERE. i cannot wait to go back here overnight, so i can have more time to explore this wonderland. only thing is: 9.6 miles, 2500 foot elevation gain - most of which is in the last mile and a half. steep, boulders, roots - yeah, it is a tough one, but well worth it. Rick, Saphina and I took about 2 hours to get to Rachel Lake, with lots of stops to take pics of the many many awesome wildflowers. Nice break at Rachel Lake, then 40 mins to Rampart Lakes. 2 hours 10 mins down. Awesome day. seriously awesome.

What a cool place! How are the camping spots?
And, I am so upset. How did you get that butterfly pic?!!! I have been trying to get a butterfly for years. You must have something I do not. ;-)
