Geocaching in Discovery Park

Here is a link to some pics of my latest adventures here in Seattle. These are not actually my pics, rather someone's who went on the geocache with me. There were five of us this time. Tons of fun! We found 4 out of the 6 we looked for... those other 2 were HARD to figure out!

Gold Creek Snowshoeing

I went snowshoeing with my hiking group today! It was awesome. It snowed huge snowflakes on us the whole time. Gorgeous! Posted by Picasa
There was a LOT of snow! Posted by Picasa

Me at Gold Creek Pond. Yes, I am up to my waist in snow. As I tried to get closer to the pond for the pic, my right leg - snowshoe and all - went down all the way to my waist! Posted by Picasa

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful celebration. Time to get out your new calendars... and be sure to write JENN is 30 on June 28th! Yup, the big 30 is fast approaching. Well, I thought it would be fun to recap my 2005 year... so here we go:

Started off the new year moving to a really nice house in Wallingford. In Feb, my mom came to visit for a week just after her birthday. We did your usual touristy things, went up the Space Needle, checked out some of the surrounding nature. In April I joined a hiking group and have since been an organizer/leader for many many hikes. Also, Steph came to visit in April! We did some more touristy stuff, like the Underground Tour and the EMP. And I got to see Miss Saigon with some co-workers. In May, my cousin Nicole had a baby girl, Arianna. I got to go to my first opera (which was terribly boring). Went to the Folk Festival and listened to lots of music. AND - went to my first hot spring out here. What an experience that was. In June I ran a 5K supporting breast cancer research. I got to see naked painted bodies riding bikes in the Fremont Solstice parade. School got out and preparation for the big road trip began. In July we began our two month road trip, and my cousin Lisa had her baby girl, Mikaela. Through July and August I saw the country. When we got back to Seattle at the end of August, it was back to work. I decided to start another year with Mercer Island School District. September was kickd off with Bumbershoot. Dean, my uncle, and I decided to join a community concert band and I started playing my clarinet again after 7 or 8 years. I also discovered the show LOST and have since become addicted! October is my favorite month - and I was very excited to have a front yard to decorate with various graveyard items. I hosted a pumpkin carving party and watched many many scary movies. November brought us to Montana for Thanksgiving. In December my concert band had its winter concert and then I got to go home to see my friends and family.

I think it was a good year. That summer was pretty remarkable :) I am excited for the new year and I hope you are all excited as well.
