It's been a long time since I have been here, and I find I kinda miss it, even though I am on facebook all the time. So, I wanted to put up some pictures again :O)

This is from the backpacking trip Chris and I did when I first moved back down to Southern Cali (Redlands). We started off with goals of climbing Mt San Gorgonio... but weather stopped us, so instead the next day we did John's Meadow. It was a so-so hike, but still nice to be in the woods.

This hike was 5.5 miles round trip, an easy hike, but I wasn't sure why it is a destination as there really was n't anythign to see at the "meadow" ... still wicked fun to get out and into the mountains!!!

Rachel Lake Rafting

Evan and I hiked to Rachel Lake today. He carried up a 15 pound raft too!! Yay!! The hike was maybe 4.5 miles to the lake, and it took us 2 hours and 12 minutes to get there. Then I put on anything to cover me up to get away from the MOSQUITOES!! Ugh, they were just awful! But once on the lake, the breeze kept them away, basically. And soooo relaxing and wonderful to float around! It really was a super gorgeous wonderful day! It took us 55 minutes to get back to the car. This was even Evan's kick off hike for his hike a thon this month to support the Washington Trails Association! GO Evan! And thanks for such a great day!

Seafair

So, I don't know, Seafair was okay. We actually went after 6 adn paid $10, instead of $30 for the day, and found out why it was cheaper. Everything was already closed up, almost everything... I did at least get to discover that someone in this world makes a to-die-for strawberry shortcake with ice cream!! and I had BBQ ribs. But El Ves was too political, but cute costumes. The fireworks though - now that was cool. To see a plane shoot fireworks from it - pretty sweet! We also found a cool sidewalk outside the fair that had lots of random things in it - like this Elvis in concrete!

Pirates Booty Runs an 8K downtown

Arrr. T his was the most fun I have ever had running! Wendy, Evan, Jessica and I (team Pirates Booty) dressed up as pirates this Saturday and ran the 8K Torchlight run downtown. It was hard (lots of uphill), but we did it! THe best thing was that the last mile or so you are running on the parade route. So there are people already on the sidelines cheering you on! ANd lottle kids asking to get your Hi 5! I cannot tell you how cool it was, we all felt like superstars with all the cheering! It really boosts you to keep going no matter how pooped you are. :)I can't wait to do this run again! Here are some pics of our outfits and the run. Yo ho ho.

Kitsap Camping with Mom and Dean

My uncle Dean, my mom and I went camping this weekend. The only place we could make a last minute reservation was at Kitsap Memorial State Park. The campground was soso... but the beach was cool. It looked nasty and boring, but once we got on it we were fascinated by what we saw! For example, this guy!
He is a moon snail and he is huge. I have never seen anything like it! So, there were oysters everywhere, spitting cochells, moon snail eggs, crabs, jellyfish, star fish... it was neat! We also checked out Green Mountain where we had a pretty nice view... it was hazy, but if not so hazy we would have seen Seattle from afar. We had fun camping, our first family trip in a while! Good food too! Biscuits on a stick with raspberry jam, BBQ chicken, potatoes and onions, good breakfasts, banana boats and so on.

Mt Si with Steph! We did it!

Today was great! I got to go on an 8 mile hike up this mountain that has intimidated me since I moved to Seattle, as 4 years ago it was my first hike out here and it totally kicked my ass. It is a pretty relentless climb up! Took us about 2 hours up and maybe 1 - 1 1/2 down. We took some time at the top in the meadow to take flower pictures, which is always super fun. It was a gorgeous day, sweaty at the bottom, but a perfect breeze at the top! And awesome company. Steph is really great, and she is getting married in August! Yay!
